Do you love golden milk? Well, you’re sure to love this golden milk smoothie with persimmon!

I recently tried persimmons for the first time while I was visiting family over the holidays and I was instantly intrigued. I wouldn’t go as far as saying I automatically loved it, but I definitely was curious and wanted to try experimenting with it more.

SO, I tried it on toast, by itself as a snack, and of course, in smoothies. After getting more familiar with it, I’m a fan. It’s got a nice sweet, but not too sweet taste and the smooth texture pairs well with a lot of other fruits.

It’s mind-blowing to me that it can’t really be compared to anything else though. My husband is convinced it’s a tomato in disguise, so he’s still skeptical.

Anyway, I love trying new foods – here’s to experimenting!

Golden Milk + Persimmon Smoothie Recipe (makes 4 servings)

  • 1 cup almond milk (or whichever milk you prefer)
  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • 2 persimmons
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • Drizzle of honey (or whichever sweetener you prefer)
