This is one of my favorite low-sugar smoothies, that also works great as a meal replacement.
It may sound like a strange flavor combination, but I assure you it’s delicious. It’s great for the fall and winter months if you’re looking for smoothie recipes to carry you through the year, as it’s pretty hearty and includes seasonal vegetables.
Nothing against tropical smoothies in the middle of January, but ya know, I like to utilize local ingredients and make the most of the seasons.
Some of you may know that I’m currently doing Whole 30. The Whole 30 community debates whether smoothies are “Whole 30 compliant” – some arguing they’re okay as meal replacements, while some argue the fact that you’re not chewing your food tricks your brain into thinking you’re not eating – but I’m on the side that argues that they are. I’ve included smoothies in my diet for a long time and find it’s a great way to get a variety of fruits and veggies.
